Popl Completes SOC 2 Security Evaluation

Popl, the industry-leading digital business card solution for teams and individuals, is proud to announce its successful completion of the SOC 2 security evaluation.

Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) defines criteria for managing customer data based on five “trust service principles” — security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

A SOC 2 examination provides organizations with a report on an organization’s internal controls and how it protects customer data and sensitive information. It is the standard for data security among digital companies in the U.S.

“Enterprise companies trust and depend on Popl”, said Popl CEO Jason Alvarez-Cohen, “and maintaining security practices aligned with SOC 2 helps provide our users an additional layer of confidence that their data management and security is our top priority.”

With its SOC 2 recognition, Popl has shown its commitment not only to protect the safety of its customers’ data but also has demonstrated that it has set the right standards in place for the future.

To earn its SOC 2 certification, Popl completed the following:

  • An assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of the Popl’s controls
  • Thorough examination of security of vendors and third parties
  • Defined policies to ensure continued protection for customers and employees

An independent auditor, Insight Assurance, conducted Popl’s detailed examination via Vanta. Through this process, Popl demonstrated its adherence to data security, availability and confidentiality standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Popl is excited to be taking this important step to further its data protection practices.
