Our story
Popl launched in 2020 and gained early traction on TikTok and Instagram. The founding Popl team leveraged organic social media platforms to go viral, generating millions of followers and customers worldwide.
In early 2021, Popl was accepted into Y Combinator (W21 batch), raised $3M in funding, and launched their first subscription-based mobile app. This positioned Popl as the de facto lead capture and contact-sharing solution on the market. This early success sparked a transformation into a B2B-focused software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
By 2024, Popl had quickly established itself as the clear leader in its category with the release of Popl Teams—a platform built to manage lead capture and conference networking for large teams and enterprise companies. At this point, over 90% of Fortune 500 companies were using Popl.
In early 2025, Popl re-branded and officially launched it's Event Lead Capture platform and AI-powered Universal Badge Scanner.
Today, Popl continues to trailblaze the Event Lead Capture category and provides event tech solutions to over 2.5M users across 150 different countries.
